This document has been developed for planning and conducting an environmental risk assessment in support of an open release of a GE plant in Bangladesh. It provides a practical elaboration to the risk assessment framework included in the Biosafety Guidelines of Bangladesh by detailing the types of information that will be informative for environmental risk assessment of GE plants in Bangladesh. Where appropriate, these guidelines will refer back to the ERA framework and the principles of ERA that are contained in the Biosafety Guidelines of Bangladesh.
